You will work within a team of highly experienced and talented Engineers who have all have joined my client from leading consultancies and are enjoying working for a leading global Commercial Property Consultancy.

You will work as part of a team undertaking full detailed design and project management a broad range of high profile commercial projects. Projects are varied and interesting and will allow you to develop an understanding of the client-side commercial property sector that will set you apart from your peers.

Role Purpose - Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Design, manage and supervise projects co-ordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Carry out detailed design in accordance with industry guides.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, design drawings and budget costs to programme.
  • Supervise project works on site, workmanship and testing.
  • Survey, audit and report.

Responsibilities - Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
  • Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings. Maintain regular in house design reviews and checks.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets.
  • Participate in a programme of site inspections and Building Service audits including but not limited to condition surveys, dilapidations, due diligence and acquisition reports.
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assist in developing working practices in the Company.

The role would suit an ambitious individual as the role has a clear career path and will ensure you become a chartered engineer (if you are not already), whilst working towards becoming a Senior Engineer within a growing team.

I'm looking for a reliable Mechanical Associate who can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and lead £50M - £150M projects from feasibility to handover. They are a medium sized, privately owned business that pride themselves on staff development and retention, quality of project delivery and client satisfaction.

This role will suit an experienced Mechanical Associate who enjoys being involved in design, (not just managing), enjoys mentoring a team and is used to maintaining key client relationships.

Given the nature of the role it's likely that you will have at least ten years' experience in the building services industry, can manage people and can lead a project independently from the initial meeting, through design and handover.

Human Capital Solutions is working on a unique opportunity in the market to source an Associate Director, to play a key role in leading and developing a newly formed M&E Design & Projects team, within a leading global Property Consultancy.

A relatively new M&E division that sits alongside an established and hugely successful M&E Asset Engineering team (TDD, Dilapidations, M&E Surveying) and will look to mirror its success. M&E is seen as a huge part of their future growth strategy and has the full backing of the board to grow its numbers and revenues.

The role will see you focus on delivering a range of M&E Design projects across their large portfolio of blue-chip clients across a range of sectors including Commercial, Retail Industrial, Residential, Healthcare, Leisure and more.

The role will be hands on delivering projects and will involve working with the senior management to build and grow the M&E Design & Projects team. You will be expected to be client facing and be at a level where you are comfortable delivering end to end projects independently.

Candidates should have been exposed to a variation of client facing situations and be comfortable with business development.

Although Business Development will form a key part of the role in due course, projects are leveraged via internal company networking with the M&E Asset Engineering, Project Management, Building Surveying teams, picking up projects from within the clients existing portfolio/client base, making winning work as straightforward as it possibly can be.

In these early stages the majority of the detailed design work will be outsourced until the team has grown and becomes capable of delivering its own designs, the role will therefore involve managing third party design consultancies, performance specification, peer review and project management.

The role will change as the team grows and in addition to client development and delivery/management of projects, will see you take on full design team management.

Key responsibilities year 1:

  • Strong project management skills in delivering plant replacement and office refurbishment projects
  • Good understanding of building services generally
  • Able to provide commercial advise to clients
  • Experienced in specification write up and good understanding of building services construction (dealing with contractors etc)
  • Good interpersonal & client facing skills
  • Good understanding of fee calculation and fee proposal write up
  • Ability to develop business by creating relationships with 'internal clients'
