I'm looking for an Intermediate Mechanical (Building Services) Design Engineer to join a leading, medium sized multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in London. This role will appeal to an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking for a CIBSE approved Training and Development program, interesting projects and quick career progression.

Role

  • Ensure your projects / designs meet British Standards, CIBSE guidelines and all health and safety requirements.

  • Attending CPD's and willingness to become a Chartered Engineer.

Reporting to a Chartered Electrical Associate you will be responsible for designing and coordinating electrical building services including lighting designs, power designs, fire detection & alarm, data communications, cable sizing, maximum demands, security, lightning protection.

Duties include:

Due to an internal promotion, I'm looking for a commercially aware, Electrical Associate for a well-established Building Services consultancy based in Buckinghamshire.

With a core MEP Team of around 35 staff they are large enough to be able to secure the larger projects; whilst still being small enough to provide a personalised level of service to their clients.

This role will appeal to a career driven Electrical Associate who can lead by example and who wants to be instrumental in the future success and direction of the office; and take over the day to day running of the Electrical team. Working closely with the Directors and Partners you will be expected to;

  • Manage key client accounts.
  • Prepare bid and contract documentation.
  • Design, plan, coordinate and manage major projects (£5M to £50M) through all RIBA stages
  • Assume full responsibility for all Electrical Designs and provide a QA function on all electrical work.

The role will be based in the City of London and it will be working for a well-known and well-respected building services consultancy who employ around 250 staff across multiple offices across the UK.

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will assist in the design and delivery of projects, co-ordinate your designs with the other disciplines, attend design and client meetings, attend internal CPD's and assist in mentoring Junior or Graduate Engineers. You will also plan your own time and keep a track hours logged on each project versus the allocated fees on the project. You will also actively look at securing repeat business from existing clients by ensuring all of your designs meet the clients brief, meet CIBSE and British standards and represent good value for money.

As you progress you will be expected to take more responsibility and start assisting with defining and developing design briefs, carrying out site surveys and feasibility studies, producing specifications as part of the tendering process and also carrying out snagging of completed works and witnessing of testing and commissioning of MEP Services.
