I'm currently looking for two Sustainability Consultants with previous experience carrying out LEED or BREEAM assessments for a major multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. I have one position available in London and another based in Dublin.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established and stable team and work on some of the largest and most high profile; commercial and hotel projects currently in construction or planning stage in London and also in Dublin.

You will benefit from working in a supportive and collaborative team environment and enjoy seeing the LEED or BRREAM assessments through from pre-assessment to post construction.

I'm currently looking for a Principal Environmental Analyst / Principal Building Physics Engineer for one of the true champions and pioneers of sustainable building design.

Based in their stunning, modern and open plan office in London you will enjoy working on a stimulating range of low and zero carbon projects across the UK and abroad.

Reporting to the Head of Building Physics you will lead projects, help mentor the Building Physics team and also continue to develop their Sustainability services such as Energy Modelling, Building Performance Engineering and Soft Landings.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your passion for low and zero carbon design, design automation, air quality, daylight analysis, scripting and help push the boundaries of Building Performance Modelling.


  • At least six years' experience as an Environmental Modeller or Building Physics Engineer.
  • Good understanding of Building Services and Building Sciences.
  • Previous experience undertaking ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Modelling.
  • Good awareness of BREEAM, LEED and Well Standards.
  • Previous experience in Daylighting (preferred) or CFD modelling (advantageous, not essential)
  • Previous experience using Rhino, Grasshopper and Honeybee etc.
  • Able to prepare interesting, informative and eye-catching presentations to clients and architects.

Whilst not essential previous experience developing new tools of plug ins or experience with scripting and interfacing BIM with environmental analysis would be great.

Senior Energy Engineer

Senior Energy Engineer - Global, commercial property advisor

We have been instructed by one of the world's largest commercial property advisors and investors to identify an additional Senior Energy Engineer for their London office.

Working as part of their inhouse, dedicated Energy and Sustainability Team you will assist blue chip clients with strategic energy and carbon reduction initiatives across their commercial property portfolio. You will carry out surveys and identify what can be done in order to ensure their assets are performing as efficiently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Energy Audits on a range of existing commercial buildings throughout London and the South East.
  • Identify what building services exist (HVAC, Plant, Electrical Services, Lighting, BMS etc) and how they can be optimised
  • Liaise with Facility Managers and occupiers and identify occupant behaviours.
  • Carry feasibility studies and use modelling software to determine how much energy can be saved.
  • Provide recommendations and reports to clients on how they can reduce energy and carbon and also reduce their overall carbon footprint.
  • Propose short, medium and long-term initiatives on carbon reduction.
  • Once appointed by the client, liaise with specialist consultants and contractors and oversee the projects.
  • Use a range of Energy Measurement and verification tools to confirm that energy and carbon have been reduced.
  • Liaise with the other inhouse teams of Design Engineers, Asset Engineers, Project Managers and Sustainability Engineers and share knowledge and best practices.
  • Promote the groups capabilities to clients, essentially assisting with business development.
  • Attend CPD's and relevant events to ensure you stay up to date with technology, legislation and trends.


  • Degree qualified.
  • At least four years' experience as an Energy Engineer.
  • Solid understanding of Energy, existing buildings and HVAC and Electrical Building Services.
  • Client facing and commercially aware.
  • Able to manage your own time to ensure your projects remain profitable.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills and advanced Excel skills.

I'm looking for an Environmental Designer with previous experience in Daylight modelling using Grasshopper or IES for a leading international Sustainability Consultancy who have championed Low and Zero Carbon Building Design.

As an Environmental Designer, you will be responsible for using a range simulation based software to analyse, investigate, test and improve high-performance buildings and complex structures such as biodomes, stadiums, theatres, museums and high rise towers.

I'm working with a well-established, MEP and Sustainability Consultancy based in Buckinghamshire to find them a Sustainability Engineer.

This will be a diverse role involving Building Physics (Energy Modelling) and also BREEAM, however will initially be more focussed on Energy Modelling.

They are looking for a reliable Sustainability Engineer who has good communication skills, a good appreciation of building services, environmental analysis modelling, BREEAM and British standards.

Key tasks;

  • Using IES or TAS to carry for environmental modelling, overheating studies and daylight calculations.
  • Attending client and design team meetings.
  • Support the Senior Sustainability Engineers with the delivery of energy & sustainability project design strategies.
  • Develop an awareness of BREEAM.
  • Liaise with the MEP Engineers and ensure all projects meet Part L, national & local planning requirements.

You will enjoy working as part of their supportive Sustainability team; and use your experience in BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes to help deliver large scale sustainable and low-energy projects across the UK

Key duties

  • Liaise with developers, architects and clients and provide strategic low energy design advice.
  • Conduct BREEAM Pre-Assessments and provide design advice.
  • Produce evidence requirements for BREEAM credits.
  • Monitor the design process to ensure that the scheme design objectives are being followed and the design reflects the client's overall requirements.
  • Prepare interim and final design assessment reports and submissions to the BRE.
  • Carry out Post construction reviews.
  • Mentor and support the development of team members.
  • Liaise with our teams of MEP Engineers and continue to develop your understanding of Building Services and the Built environment.

In order to be considered, it is essential that you are a registered BREEAM Assessor for BREEAM Refurbishment and Fit Out or BREEAM New Construction and have previous experience in Code for Sustainable Homes.
