I've been retained by a design led consultancy to find them an Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) for their London studio.

As a collaborative group of MEP Engineers, architects and designers they partner with their clients from a very early design stage and always encourage the use of innovative, passive and low energy solutions. They are definitely not a "copy and paste" engineering firm and treat every project and client as unique. They always aspire to set new industry standards or create lower energy buildings than their competitors.

Reporting to a Charted Principal Electrical Engineer, you will assist with the following tasks;

  • Design of Electrical Services directly into Revit.
  • Attending DTM's and preparing hand sketches to illustrate concepts.
  • Preparing drawings in AutoCAD when required.
  • Producing innovative concept and detailed designs.
  • Producing specifications and schedules.
  • Attending projects during the installation stage to develop your understanding of MEP Services.
  • Attending completed projects after occupation and determine how the building is actually performing in use; compared to your original predictions.

Experience working within high rise buildings is desirable and whilst the technical aspect of the position is essential, the role will also involve liaising with the numerous tenants in the building, so a personable and approachable nature is essential.

This position will suit either someone working already on the managing agent/client side, or particularly to those working for a 3rd party contractor looking to further their experience and prospects with a market leader within commercial real estate.

I'm working with a large, global main contractor who specialise in the design of complex projects such as data centres, hospitals and industrial projects to find them a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

You will be project / site based for the duration of a new build, hyper-scale data centre project in Frankfurt which is expected to run for the next two years.

In addition to a generous basic salary of up to €70K, they will also cover all of your accommodation costs, all flights and all reasonable living expenses.

They will also provide a structured training and development program and actively support and pay for your CPD.


  • Degree qualified, Senior Electrical Design Engineer.
  • Previous experience leading data centre projects from design to construction.
  • Previous experience working for a contractor; or previous experience working for a well-known engineering consultancy and extensive previous site-based experience.
  • Able to spend up to two weeks at a time on site, in Frankfurt.

I'm working with a boutique global, MEP Design and Sustainability Consultancy to find them a Revit MEP Technician for their London studio.

You will benefit from seeing the majority of your projects through from inception to completion and enjoy working in their collaborative team. You'll work on a range of fascinating and unique projects such as museums, boutique hotels, low energy universities, special needs schools, listed buildings and super prime residential buildings.

Main Tasks

  • Maintaining the quality of the BIM models
  • Providing input into the BEP and the overall BIM project strategy on each project.
  • Designing, documenting and managing BIM projects
  • Creating parametric families and assisting in maintaining or updating templates and libraries
  • Checking for compliance prior to models being issued.

As a Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer you'll enjoy working on a variety of projects including commercial offices, five-star hotels and large scale residential led, mixed-used developments.

Reporting to a Chartered Mechanical Director, you'll be mentored so that you can step up into a Principal role in the next 12 - 24 months.

As a medium sized, multi-disciplinary consultancy you'll be working closely with the inhouse Civil, Structural and Sustainability Engineers and ensure your HVAC designs are properly coordinated. You'll use your own initiative and project management skills to ensure projects remain on track, both technically and also from a financial control point of view.

You'll take a lead role technically for all Mechanical projects, help mentor the team, attend DTM's and presentations, assist with resource allocation and fee proposals and agree any additional fees or variations with the client.

Key Duties

  • Provide design input for all complex HVAC systems design.
  • Meet clients on key projects and present technical solutions.
  • Attend internal and external review and progress meetings
  • Prepare calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications and other documents relating to each project's designs
  • Understand resources requirements, risk and technical quality to ensure delivery of effective solutions.
  • Plan and execute work packages
  • Ensure all HVAC designs are rigorously checked and meet the clients requirements
  • Ensure that all mechanical engineering practices on site are kept up to date and within UK safety legislation.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on mechanical issues.
  • Ensure consistency of approach across packages.
