Having grown steadily over the past decade, this MEP consultancy have always considered Sustainability and Building Performance Engineering to be a core part of the business, rather than just a bolt on service.

Having saved a lot of cash reserves over the past years they are still in growth mode and are looking to appoint a Building Physics Engineer who enjoys modelling intelligent, innovative low energy buildings that enhance people's lives and the community in general.

Working in team of ten Sustainability and Building Physics Engineers you'll use a range of simulation software such as IES VE and Apache HVAC, PHPP or Hevacomp to model buildings that tread more lightly on the planet and have low or no environmental impact.

You'll also develop a better understanding of building performance engineering, climate-based daylight modelling, building energy consumption, Passivhaus methods, alternative technologies, carbon foot-printing and passive design.

You'll liaise with Architects and clients during the early design stages and work on a range of projects from RIBA Stages 2-4 such as universities, listed buildings, hotels, mixed-use developments and hospitals.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a suitable field such as Building Services, Energy, Mechanical, Environmental or Architectural Engineering.
  • Intermediate to advanced IES Modelling skills.
  • Good understanding of Well, BREEAM and Passivhaus methods.
  • At least two years experience working with a consultancy environment.
