Job Description

Founded in the 1980's this multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy now employs over 200 staff and continues to secure virtually all of their work via repeat business or recommendations. Due to continued growth and a very positive outlook for the year; they are now looking for an additional Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer for their Kent office.

Working under a Chartered Associate or Chartered Principal Engineer you will assist with the design and delivery of projects, attending design team and client meetings, carry out MEP condition surveys, ensure designs utilise renewable or passive design strategies and finally; prepare drawings, designs and specifications.

You will enjoy working on a range projects such as infrastructure, defence, residential, healthcare, commercial and industrial through all stages of the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified and at least three years' experience in Building Services.
  • Broad range of projects spanning the private and public sectors.
  • Able to communicate clearly and establish rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Able to use Hevacomp or IES and a working knowledge of AutoCAD.

    Requirements

    • 3 years' experience in HVAC design, within a consultancy environment.
    • Able to produce calculations, specifications, and technical reports (typically for RIBA Stages 2-4a)
    • Previous experience leading smaller projects.
    • Advanced knowledge of HVAC and an awareness of CHP, Energy Networks, District Heating, Operational Energy and Passivhaus or BREEAM.
    • Able to work in the UK, without the need to be sponsored.

    Due to succession planning, I'm looking for an Electrical Director for an M&E design consultancy based in Hertfordshire.

    Working alongside the Founding Director, you'll be the Lead Electrical Engineer on projects, and manage and mentor the wider team of electrical engineers.

    Typically partnering with architects you'll design buildings that are simple to utilise, intelligent controls, renewables, PV's and BMS. You'll review the electrical designs for distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, smart metering, as well as standby power generation on the larger projects.

    Rather than getting stuck on only one or two large projects a year, here you'll get involved in around 20 projects a year including museums, offices, schools, theatres, artist studios, universities, churches and mixed-use developments.

    I have a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an international, MEP Design and Sustainability Consultancy based in London.

    Established over a decade ago, they are widely regarded as a leader in ESD / Green Building Design and launched a new London office in 2024, which has been a phenomenal success so far.

    Working with (i.e. not just working for) their Electrical Director, you'll be responsible for leading meetings, leading projects, and also assisting with fee bids and resource planning. You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged. You'll see projects through from feasibility, design, all the way through to construction and post occupancy.

    This role will appeal to a Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys autonomy and wants to have a huge influence over the future direction and success of the Electrical team.

    As you develop your own network and contacts (realistically over the next 6 - 12 months) you'll develop your own reputation and relationships with architects, contractors, managing agents and end users.

    You'll be rewarded with a basic salary up to £65K, an annual bonus of up to 10%, 25 days annual leave a hybrid working policy.

    Essential Requirements
