Client: Global Building Services Engineering specialist.

I have been retained by an award-winning Engineering MEP Contractor who have been recognised for delivering excellence. They are keen to appoint an M&E Commercial Manager.

Ideally you will be professionally qualified although this is not essential, but you will be capable of demonstrating the financial management of Major MEP Projects within your portfolio.

This opportunity will give you the full autonomy to work on innovative Projects throughout Europe including Healthcare, Mission Critical and Life Sciences to name a few spaces, values will exceed £50m (M&E) and the typical Project will range from £5-30m. You will be strongly assisted by Commercial and Project Teams with the ongoing support of the Directors.

Mechanical Estimator

My Client has delivered high profile projects for over 20 years within traditional M&E Contracting and Design& Build.

They primarily work within Commercial & Financial buildings providing fast track fit-out and Refurbishment up to £25m (M&E). This space represents approximately 2/3 rds. of their turnover. Other sectors include Commercial Shell & Core, Healthcare, Hotels & Leisure and Education.

Working from modern, spacious offices within a few minutes’ walk from the station, they are keen to engage with a Mechanical Estimator who can demonstrate a stable employment history preparing and submitting Mechanical tenders independently from £4-10m.

Mechanical Contracts Manager

We have been appointed to recruit a Mechanical Contracts Manager. You will be based in their Kent office, reporting to the Directors taking full responsibility for several Project Teams predominately in London on Projects typically range £1-4m.

Mechanical Estimator

I am keen to speak with a Mechanical Estimator who is seeking the opportunity to achieve Estimating Manager within a balanced and secure environment.

My Client has undergone significant structured growth and find themselves very well positioned in the market with a stable turnover that pleases the board, so the focus has been identified to increase profit margins.

You will be accountable for managing the Estimation and Pre-Construction delivery function whilst working closely with the Commercial and Operational teams who will evaluate and manage all contractual, commercial and technical risk within the tender process and upon contract award manage risk and optimise profitability through the pre-construction handover process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Day to Day operations of the Estimation Department team.
  • Estimation and Pre-Construction Risk management.
  • Management of new opportunities through the bid / no bid process.
  • Developing Bid strategy with MD’s and Directors.
  • Supplier/sub-contractor bid negotiations during tender process to enable a competitive “winning” bid is presented.
  • Eliminating risk through the Pre-Construction handover process.
  • Dispute resolution.
  • Procurement strategy with Commercial/ Operation department and ensuring Best Value is achieved throughout.
  • Meeting Compliance and Profitability targets.
  • Quality and timely submission of tenders.
  • Internal adjudications.
  • Developing further resilience within the Estimation Department.
  • Vetting incoming tenders/offers from our supply chain and ensuring that the most viable offer is included within our submission.

Mechanical Estimator

My Client has excelled within the Building Services market for over 60 years, being recognised for delivering high profile projects typically within Mission Critical, complex Mixed-Use, Banking, Finance and large Commercial schemes.

To strengthen their Estimating team, they are keen to appoint a Mechanical Estimator who can take ownership of an enquiry from inception and submit a fully prepared Mechanical tender

You should be able to demonstrate this, coupled with a stable employment history working on tenders typically up to £40m.
