MEP CAD Technician - To £30K

I'm delighted to be working with the Partner of an award-winning MEP Design studio based in London to find them an M&E CAD Technician.

The role has been created due to planned growth and you will benefit from working in a team of experienced Engineers on a variety of high profile commercial office, hotel and mixed-use developments across London.

You will be responsible for freeing up the Engineers time by taking CAD away from them; assisting with technical document control, reviewing specifications, implementing CAD standards. Once you pass your probation you will be trained to us Revit MEP and will also be given additional responsibilities such as arranging CPD's, attending client and site meetings and if you show an aptitude for design, be trained to use either IES or Amtech.

Please note although they are only a small consultancy, they are currently working on large scale projects in the region of £10 - £100M and do work across RIBA stages 1 - 6.

Ideally, they would like a solid MEP CAD Technician with at least three years' experience in Building Services who has advanced AutoCAD and MEP co-ordination skills and although not essential, a working knowledge; or a desire to learn Revit MEP would be beneficial.

    • Chartered Status or on route
    • Experience of working on challenging and complex CatA/CatB projects
    • Experience or Proficiency in other technical software packages (i.e. Revit / Dialux )
    • Excellent written English and Report writing skills
    • Experience using AutoCAD & BIM
    • Proficient with core Microsoft Office365 applications

    Requirements

    • 3 years' experience in HVAC design, within a consultancy environment.
    • Able to produce calculations, specifications, and technical reports (typically for RIBA Stages 2-4a)
    • Previous experience leading smaller projects.
    • Advanced knowledge of HVAC and an awareness of CHP, Energy Networks, District Heating, Operational Energy and Passivhaus or BREEAM.
    • Able to work in the UK, without the need to be sponsored.
