Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer - £38 to £50K 26 days leave 5% pension, full autonomy.

Established over 25 years ago, this independently owned, building surveying, project management and construction consultancy set up a new MEP offering in 2023. They operate from three offices across the UK and have a secured pipeline of interesting and varied projects across London and the Southeast of England.

After a very profitable first year of offering MEP Design and Surveying Services, they are now looking for an additional Electrical Engineer for their office near Moorgate.

In addition to Electrical Design, you'll also develop new skills in client advisory services such as, Pre-Acquisition Surveys, TDD (Technical Due Diligence), Condition Surveys, PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and Dilapidation Surveys.

You'll have full autonomy and control over your projects and use your own initiative and experience to drive projects forward. However, you will have direct access to the Electrical Director who will always be happy to provide support, guidance, and input when you need it.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified and at least three years' experience working for a building services, multi-disciplinary engineering, or property consultancy.
  • Previous experience seeing projects through to completion.
  • Digitally savvy, familiar with a range of building services software such as Revit, Trible MEP (Amtech) and either Dialux or Relux.

    As an Mechanical Engineer, you'll get involved in designing and modelling a variety of low carbon, interesting buildings such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, offices, churches, universities, and data centres.

    You'll work as part of a friendly, experienced, and supportive team of around 30 engineers on one off projects, typically from concept all the way through to construction.

    You will attend design team and site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects, and specialist external consultants. You will also carry out heating and cooling loads, size plants, ducts, or pipes, use Revit MEP to produce 3D models, and also ensure all projects adhere to CIBSE guidelines, British standards and also promote a circular economy.

    Requirements

    • At least two years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer,
    • Previous experience working directly with Architects.
    • Comfortable communicating technical terms, to a non-technical audience.
    • Easy to work with, able to work as part of a team.
