Electrical Design Engineer - London - To £45K Package

Based in one of London's creative hubs, walking distance from Old Street or Liverpool St Stations, their studio offers a unique working environment. Rather than just working in a traditional multi-disciplinary engineering manner, their Civil and Structural Engineers, BIM Technicians, Building Physics Engineers all work in an interdisciplinary manner with the MEP Engineers.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll get involved in a range of interesting, unique and complex projects. Projects can range from £100K - £200M and include both upgrades, refurbishments or extensions, right through to major new building developments. Some of their current projects include museums, sports stadiums, hospitals, schools, commercial offices and super-prime residential developments.
And in addition to continuing to develop your skills and expertise in Electrical Engineering, you will also receive training in Embodied carbon (TM65), whole life cycle assessments and post occupancy evaluations. This will ensure you develop into a very well-rounded Building Services Engineer over the next few years of your career.
Key duties will involve.
- Attending design team meeting with architects, specialist contractors and end user clients.
- Undertaking research into emerging or new technologies, materials or modern methods of construction.
- Develop a brief and agreeing the deliverables with the client.
- Producing the electrical design on projects for LV power distribution, power systems, Lighting, etc
- Coordinating with their inhouse Civil and Structural Engineering Engineers.
- Promoting the use of intelligent building systems, BMS and promoting a low carbon economy.
- Managing project deliverables.
- Ensuring projects under your control are completed on time and within the original budget.
- Flagging up when to raise a variation or additional fee with the client.

Qualifications
- Degree or HND qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or similar.
- Good understanding of Electrical Design, Power Distribution and Power Systems.
- 3 years experience in a similar role, i.e working as an Electrical Design Engineer within the building services industry.
