Principal Building Physics Engineer - To £75K - Enjoy a nine-day fortnight whilst you help save the planet.

As a Principal Building Physics Engineer, you will contribute to the decarbonisation of the built environment in the UK, utilising Passivhaus principles on large-scale commercial projects.

You'll play an integral part in the transformation of the built environment, positively impacting climate change, and leaving a legacy for future generations.

You'll apply innovative design strategies, energy-efficient technologies, and leading construction practices to create environmentally friendly buildings that are commercially viable.

Requirements

  • Previous experience using evidence backed, modelling software (such as PHPP / IESVe etc) to design low or zero carbon buildings.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant Architectural, Environmental, Physics or Building Services field.
  • Familiar with Net Zero Carbon strategies and roadmaps.
  • Good overall knowledge of materials, energy performance, thermal comfort, overheating, daylighting, indoor air quality and Part L 2021.
  • Awareness of BREEAM / WELL / Nabers / LEED
  • Understanding of building materials, and One Click LCA.

    You'll be fully supported by a hands-on director, whilst you enjoy full freedom and autonomy to lead your own projects; both technically and also from a financial point of view. So long as your projects are making good profit, you'll be rewarded with an additional bonus of around £500 (in addition to your guaranteed basic salary of up to £40K) per month.

    Projects will include major decarbonisation and heat recovery projects with blue chip firms, CAT B office fit outs, surgeries, large industrial buildings and upgrades of listed and cultural buildings.

    You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged and enjoy the opportunity of liaising directly with architects, contractors and end users, something that just isn't available when working in large, corporate engineering consultancies.

    In addition to a basic salary of up to £40K they also offer;

    • Up to 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
    • Annual bonus of up to 10%.

    • A fully remote role so you can work from home five days a week.

    This fully remote role will appeal to a Mechanical Engineer who wants the security of a monthly salary, 25 days paid leave yet still have a dedicated mentor and having full autonomy over your projects.

    Established in the UK four years ago, this Building Services Consultancy are now looking to expand thier operations across London and the Southeast.

    As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll enjoy working on a range of projects such as major decarbonisation and heat recovery projects with blue chip firms, CAT B office fit outs, surgeries, and upgrades of listed and cultural buildings.

    Working directly with the founding Director, a friendly and supportive Chartered Engineer (CEng, MCIBSE, MSc), you'll be responsible for leading the HVAC design elements on projects. You'll be occasionally required to attend meetings also oversee the installation of the mechanical building services systems.

    You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged. You will be given the opportunity to lead your own projects from feasibility, design, all the way through to construction. As you develop your own network and contacts (realistically over 6 - 12 months) you'll be allowed to pursue the types of projects you enjoy and choose whether you prefer collaborating with architects, contractors, or end users.

    This Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer opportunity offers the freedom and autonomy of a freelance role, yet the opportunity of having a huge say into the future direction and success of the business.

    You'll be rewarded with a basic salary up to £55K, an annual bonus of up to 10%, 25 days annual leave and a fully funded, holiday typically three or four days in Europe.
