Principal Electrical Design Engineer - To £75K Package

Established over 100 years ago our client is an independent multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy offering building services, Civil and Structural engineering and Revit from multiple offices across the UK.

They operate in commercial buildings, industrial plants, hotels & leisure developments, residential, education and healthcare. They have grown steadily over the years and have managed to retain their core staff by offering their engineers ongoing support, regular salary increases, annual performance based bonuses and the opportunity of leading their own projects from a very early stage of their careers.

Their business is built on relationships and a policy that all Directors within the firm are working Directors who actively participate in all stages of their projects and remains hands on. Their London office a modern, bright, open plan office with Graduates to Directors sharing the same work space and offers a relaxed yet professional working environment. Recent projects include a new build 1 million square foot office, a 800 unit luxury residential development incorporating Ground Source Heat pumps and District heating, a £10M new build Luxury Hotel and a CAT B fitout on a 200,000 square foot office.

As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the technical quality of projects, manging the day to day running of the Electrical team, maintaining key client relationships and also supporting the Electrical Director with fee bids and resource planning. Additional duties will involve managing workload, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, attending regular CPD seminars and remaining actively involved in all projects in a lead role and continue to work directly with both Client's and Project Team Members accordingly.

This is a design and management role and it is essential that you have the confidence in your own technical ability and can design, plan, manage and deliver a profitable project with limited supervision. Given the nature of the projects; recent hotel, commercial office, mixed use or high rise residential project experience is essential.

In return they offer extensive autonomy, a clear path to Associate or Associate Director and the opportunity of working closely in collaboration with developers or end user clients. This will expose you to all stages of a project lifecycle from pre-acquisition, design, construction and post occupancy and ensure you develop into a well-rounded and commercially aware Engineer.

    Requirements

    • 3 years' experience in HVAC design, within a consultancy environment.
    • Able to produce calculations, specifications, and technical reports (typically for RIBA Stages 2-4a)
    • Previous experience leading smaller projects.
    • Advanced knowledge of HVAC and an awareness of CHP, Energy Networks, District Heating, Operational Energy and Passivhaus or BREEAM.
    • Able to work in the UK, without the need to be sponsored.

    Electrical Director - Hertfordshire - £85 to £100K Profit share Equity

    Due to succession planning, I'm looking for an Electrical Director for an M&E design consultancy based in Hertfordshire.

    Working alongside the Founding Director, you'll be the Lead Electrical Engineer on projects, and manage and mentor the wider team of electrical engineers.

    Typically partnering with architects you'll design buildings that are simple to utilise, intelligent controls, renewables, PV's and BMS. You'll review the electrical designs for distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, smart metering, as well as standby power generation on the larger projects.

    Rather than getting stuck on only one or two large projects a year, here you'll get involved in around 20 projects a year including museums, offices, schools, theatres, artist studios, universities, churches and mixed-use developments.
