The Opportunity

Join a well-established, employee-owned Building Services Contractor with over 40 years of industry success and a turnover approaching £200m. The business is widely respected for its engineering capability, strong financial footing, and long-standing client relationships.

Employee ownership means people are genuinely invested, decisions are made for the long term, and contribution is recognised.

The Role – Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Estimator

This is a key appointment within the pre-construction team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will take ownership on high-value, technically complex building services bids, playing a direct role in winning work and shaping project strategy from the outset.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading Mechanical tenders and detailed cost plans

  • Producing accurate, competitive estimates across varied sectors and project values

  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

  • Building strong relationships with the supply chain and negotiating best value

  • Contributing to value engineering, risk management, and bid strategy

  • Supporting and mentoring junior estimators as the team grows

What’s in It for You

  • 10–12 hours a week back compared to travelling into the capital

  • Long-term security within a financially stable, employee-owned business

  • Exposure to complex, high-profile projects, particularly within Data Centres

  • A supportive, professional environment where experience is valued

  • Clear opportunity to influence bids, strategy, and future growth

About You

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services Engineering

  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of mechanical systems

  • Experience delivering estimates on complex projects from design through to tender

  • Detail-driven, commercially astute, and confident working to deadlines

  • A team-focused approach suited to an employee-owned culture
