An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Head of Sustainability to lead and grow its Environmental Engineering function within a well-established, privately owned consultancy with a strong reputation across the built environment, delivering a full range of design and consultancy services to both public and private sector clients. Reporting to the Building Services Director, you will drive a carbon and energy-led design approach, shaping sustainable outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects in the built environment.

You’ll lead the Sustainability & Building Physics team, support project delivery, and play a key role in client engagement, work winning, and developing ESG initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability strategy and support Building Services delivery
• Represent the business in client meetings and project interviews
• Oversee services including energy strategy, building physics, modelling, and performance optimisation
• Deliver and manage certifications (BREEAM, LEED, PassivHaus, SKA, etc.)
• Guide whole life carbon assessments and use of tools (e.g. OneClick LCA, CRREM)
• Support ESG development and internal sustainability initiatives

You will hold a Degree / Master’s in Engineering or Sustainability (Built Environment) and demonstrate 8+ years’ industry experience. A strong knowledge of sustainable design, certifications, and BIM/digital integration and be a confident communicator with leadership and client-facing experience showing motivation, collaboration and be driven to deliver impact
