PH Design Engineer

  • Permanent
  • City of London, London
  • £45000 - £55000 per annum + Mentoring from a Chartered, PH Engineer GBP / Year

PH Design Engineer

PH Engineer – To £55K + Package, full mentorship and site exposure

Ready to move up?

Are you a PH Design Engineer looking for more than just another office role?

Want to work closely with an experienced mentor who has progressed from plumber to Chartered, MEP Project Director?

With around 30 MEP Engineers in their London office, you’ll join a close knit, friendly and social team. You’ll be mentored directly by the MEP Project Director, who understands both the hands-on and technical sides of Public Health Engineering.

You’ll not only deepen your design skills across Above Ground Drainage, Hot and Cold-Water Services, and Revit, but you’ll also have real site exposure. Here you’ll benefit from overseeing installations, testing, and commissioning phases and also attending FAT with manufacturers.

This will ensure you become a well rounded PH Engineer and not just handing over drawings and hoping for the best.

What you’ll get:

  • 1:1 mentoring from a Chartered PH Engineer
  • Early project involvement: from concept design through to construction handover
  • Full exposure to client meetings, contractor coordination, and site meetings
  • A vibrant, sociable, and supportive team culture
  • A huge variety of projects including residential, commercial offices, mixed-use developments, leisure centres and major hotel refurbishments
  • As much autonomy as you like
  • Quick progression to Senior in as little as 12 – 24 months.

Recent projects include:

  • Major repurposing of a former iconic factory into a NZC mixed-use scheme
  • Decarbonisation for a major Hotel chain
  • High spec, CAT B office refurb
  • New build Leisure centre projects
  • Net Zero Carbon masterplan

What you’ll need

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong foundation in PH Design (hot/cold-water services and above ground drainage)
  • Good knowledge of rainwater and grey water harvesting systems
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Understanding of CIBSE guidelines, British Standards (BS12056)
  • Previous experience taking projects from RIBA Stages 2-4

Why this role?

You won’t be just another small cog in a big wheel. Here, you’ll enjoy quick progression, project ownership, and a dynamic working environment where your ideas are valued, and your professional development is taken seriously.
