I'm looking for an Electrical Associate Director for a well known and well respected global engineering consultancy. Reporting to a Board Director, you use all your experience in electrical design, team management and project management to deliver projects in a sustainable, effective, and collaborative way.
The Opportunity
As an Electrical Associate you'll join a fast paced, well established, yet rapidly growing business that has over 2000 staff and operates from the UK, Europe, SE Asia, and the Middle East. This role is an ideal steppingstone to Director level position within two to three years as the current Electrical Director will be retiring then.
The Role
Working within the commercial, hotel and mixed-use sectors you'll continue to build relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues. You'll enjoy a hands-on role and be involved in projects from feasibility, planning, estimating, installation, managing technical documents to final handover.
Key Duties
· Understand other disciplines such as Mechanical, BMS, Public Health and how they will influence the project.
· Identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts, new software, or emerging technologies.
· Turn research ideas into technical plans.
· Work collaboratively with architects, structural and civil engineers to ensure clients requirements are met.
· Discuss and solve any issues that pop up on projects and discuss with the project or design team.
· Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time constraint.
Requirements
· Degree qualified with at least 10 years' experience in building services. (As a Design Engineer)
· MCIBSE or MIET or working towards this.
· Good depth and breadth of experience across new build and refurbishment projects.
· Able to come up with creative ideas or news ways of working.
· Good commercial awareness and experience managing the financial and technical elements on projects.
Senior Electrical Design Engineer - To £65K bonus package progression purpose.
I have a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an international, MEP Design and Sustainability Consultancy based in London.
Established over a decade ago, they are widely regarded as a leader in ESD / Green Building Design and launched a new London office in 2024, which has been a phenomenal success so far.
Working with (i.e. not just working for) their Electrical Director, you'll be responsible for leading meetings, leading projects, and also assisting with fee bids and resource planning. You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged. You'll see projects through from feasibility, design, all the way through to construction and post occupancy.
This role will appeal to a Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys autonomy and wants to have a huge influence over the future direction and success of the Electrical team.
As you develop your own network and contacts (realistically over the next 6 - 12 months) you'll develop your own reputation and relationships with architects, contractors, managing agents and end users.
You'll be rewarded with a basic salary up to £65K, an annual bonus of up to 10%, 25 days annual leave a hybrid working policy.
Essential Requirements
· 5 years' experience as an Electrical (Building Services) design engineer.
· Previous experience working for a consultancy (ie Building Services, or multi-disciplinary)
· Must be able to work in the UK without the need to be sponsored.
· Willing to work from the office three days a week (Central London)
