Sustainability Engineer (Building Physics) - To £45K 9-day fortnight
Having recently won the CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services) "Building Performance Consultancy of the Year" award, this global Sustainability Consultancy is continuing to expand all four, of their dedicated Energy and Sustainability teams.
Reporting to an Associate you'll enjoy a diverse role involving Building Physics (Building Performance Engineering) day light and sun light modelling, overheating studies, adaptive thermal comfort studies, wind and micro climate analysis, indoor air quality studies, natural ventilation modelling and also predicting the operational energy and carbon over a building's lifespan.
You'll use of both off the shelf building simulation software such as IES ( IESVe and IES ApacheHVAC), Rhino and Grasshopper ( Ladybug, Honeybee, Butterfly etc.) and also Revit; and also program you own scripts or codes in other packages such as Python to help automate or improve the modelling process.
On a daily basis you'll interact with the three other Energy and Sustainability teams and develop a good overall awareness of topics such as Life Cycle Analysis, Whole-Life Carbon, low energy strategies, Low master planning, environmental engineering, energy efficiency assessments, LZC technologies, BREEAM, LEED and Nabers, air source, and ground source heat pumps, natural ventilation, heat recovery, biomass boilers, district heating systems and PV's.

Building Physics Engineer - To £45K 9-day fortnight Annual salary increase
As a Building Physics Engineer, you'll use your passion and knowledge in Architectural and Environmental Engineering to help model a blend of NZC buildings all around the world.
In return you'll receive 25 days annual leave, get paid to have every second Friday off (as they operate a 9-day fortnight) and enjoy a hybrid working week of two days from the office.
You'll enjoy a diverse role as you undertake urban modelling, microclimate and energy studies, environmental data analysis and conduct R&D into new or emerging technologies and modern methods of construction.
Working closely with the Building Performance Engineers and Sustainability Consultants, you'll use IES to model and improve the energy performance of both new buildings and existing buildings too.
Where possible, you'll promote the use of natural ventilation or passive methods; and help integrate the most suitable range of renewable technologies into these developments.
You'll also work closely with the inhouse team of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) Design Engineers and help the Mechanical Engineers optimise the most suitable cooling and ventilation strategies.
Working to Nabers, WELL or BREEAM standards you'll help model buildings that minimise energy and carbon; and are fit for purpose.
You'll enjoy consulting directly with architects and clients through all RIBA Stages 2 - 7 of a project and carry out POE's to ensure that completed projects, perform in use as they were intended to during the early design stages.

Assistant Engineering Manager - Client Side - to £45k Package ( c.20% Bonus/12% Pension)
Human Capital Solutions is working on a unique opportunity in the market to source an Assistant Engineering Manager to join an Engineering Services team within a leading global Property Consultancy.
You will begin your management journey on the Kings Cross estate as an Assistant Engineering Manager covering 2 state of the art commercial buildings, each solely occupied by a blue-chip client. There will also be the opportunity to get exposure to work on the other buildings in the estate on an ad hoc basis.
The previous Assistant Engineering Manager has just been promoted to Engineering Manager after joining the business just 18 months ago. This role will follow a similar path, you would be joining at Assistant level and be given the training and support to progress to manager within 18 months (salary at Engineering Manager level circa. £60k)
You will be predominately managing the supply chain and the performance of the M&E and additional specialist contractors. Working with the Engineering Manager you will attend the monthly performance meetings with contractors and service providers, ensure technical compliance guidelines are being met, trouble shooting and assisting the FM/Property Management team in looking after the occupiers.
The role will be based (although there is flexible to work from home) at Kings Cross multi-arts venue in the heart of London, this environmentally focused building was named the UKs 'Best of the Best'. Opening in 2008 the award-winning event space has been designed as a major arts venue and creative hub. With sections for music, visual arts and a seven floor Grade A office complex.
In addition to being an iconic mixed-use building, with a range of bars, dining areas and waterfront restaurant, it has been planned and designed as an environmentally sustainable development from the start.
