Job Description

Head of Technical Services (M&E) - £90K Bonus, Pension, BUPA.

You will take the lead role on M&E Technical Services across one of London's most iconic events estates.

Considered to be London's leading event destination, housing a community of homes, shops, cafes, offices, leisure and cultural venues, over multiple acres of public space.

Managing a development that is globally recognised as one of the most exciting and innovative mixed-use events schemes in the world - a place for locals, tourists and residents to enjoy a unique blend of restaurants, shops, parks and cultural spaces.

Human Capital Solutions are looking for an individual with experience of successfully managing Engineering Services across a large recognisable estate or portfolio, preferably with experience of managing a significant Events estate.

The site hosts significant prime Commercial and Retail space, visitors can dine in a multitude of restaurants and cafes and the central, events space that is considered to be a major culture and events destination.

Employed by a global leader in Commercial Real Estate Services, you will be the Technical Services lead for all functions and services within the estate.

Role Purpose

The Head of Technical Services is required to establish, implement and maintain effective management systems and procedures in the delivery and continuity of service of the MEP, Fabric and IT Infrastructure Services.

A client and customer facing role, contributing to the management of health, safety and wellbeing for all users of the estate, whilst protecting and enhancing the landlord's assets.

The Head of Technical Services will provide strategic technical direction, strong leadership, as well as operational planning and solutions.

Requirements

A natural leader with industry credibility and track record in a senior Technical Services Management role.

Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate a deep understanding of all current legislation and recommended standards, with technical expertise in managing contractors on a large-scale high-profile estate.

Able to manage a variety of people both directly and via service providers.

Knowledge of and understanding MEP, Fabric, Heritage, ICT with a Property Management Environment.

Comprehensive understanding of ESCo Management issues and capable of managing supplier performance.

Experience of working on a mixed use development and engaging with residents along with other stakeholders.

Experience of managing critical infrastructure including complex networks.

Fully conversant with Electrical installation and current IEE regulations.

Operational knowledge of critical works and change management systems.

Strong IT skills.

Educated to degree level or equivalent technical qualification.

Preference for Chartered Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and people management.

Delivery of M&E Technical Services operations across the estate.

Management of the CAFM system.

Prepare the Technical Services teams for future phase delivery.

Strategy management of technical operations.

Prepare and manage engineering service charge budgets.

Implement and manage environmental and energy conservation programmes ensuring optimum usage of energy by utilising the systems available.

Develop, implement and maintain maintenance strategies and systems for all buildings.

Ensure adherence to, on behalf of the landlord and occupiers, the technical obligations within the occupier lease agreements.

Ensure that the estate fabric is maintained according to the design specification.

ICT Technical Services Management.

Contract management.

Ensure compliance with all current legislation.

Identify and agree specialist consultant roles and review consultants brief on a regular basis.

ESCo management.

Take responsibility for Health & Safety for all technical systems.
