Mechanical Associate

£68000 - £80000 per annum international projects, progression

Job Description

Mechanical Associate - Up to £80K Package

Tired of waiting for that promotion to Associate? Enjoy working closely with signature architects, on a blend of UK and international projects?

Due to planned growth and securing several new projects this medium sized Building Services Engineering Consultancy is looking for an additional Mechanical Associate. With offices in London and Europe, youll thrive in their supportive team environment, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and have a clear path to Director in the future.

As an Associate, you'll work closely with their directors and be responsible for leading a range of interesting projects across the UK and abroad. You'll become a key part of a connected and collaborative team comprising MEP Design Engineers, Building Physics Engineers, Revit Technicians, and Sustainability Engineers. As an early pioneer of using digital tools to improve the design process, BIM is ingrained in their DNA. They produce construction-level 3D models for design coordination and systems verification on most of their projects. However, on the flip side the majority of their staff can still sit with an architect or client and produce engaging concept sketches using a blank piece of paper and pencil.

It's also really encouraging that their founding principals of quality, staff retention, and innovation remain core values and that they promote a good work life balance.

You'll enjoy collaborating in a team of around 30 experts, who all share the same passion for designing innovative, low-energy buildings.

Essential Requirements:
* 7 years' experience in a Mechanical design Engineer within the built environment.
* Degree qualified and preferably Chartered (CEng, MIET).
* Up-to-date knowledge of British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines, as well as CDM regulations.
* Good leadership skills and the ability to inspire and mentor others.
* Broad range of project experience previous experience seeing projects through from concept to construction.

  • list Senior Mechanical Engineer
£55000 - £65000 per annum decent fees, complex projects, autonomy

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - To £60K full autonomy over your projects.

    • Do you enjoy being busy?
    • Would you like to work on a blend of projects including listed buildings, data centres, hotels, and high-spec commercial offices?
    • Like the peace of mind, knowing your job is 100% secure for the next 12 months?

Led by an entrepreneurial Director who became the youngest ever Partner in their previous firm, this consultancy partners directly with signature architects, major developers, and high net worth individuals.

They have a secured pipeline of projects for the next 12 months and can guarantee you job security and a fascinating range of projects.

Some of their current projects include:

    • Student Accommodation - Conversion and full refurbishment of an existing listed building into a 110-room student accommodation.
    • Commercial - Refurbishment of an international Banks' former HQ building.
    • Heritage and Conservation - Major refurbishment of a Boutique hotel set in a wildlife park environment. Upgrades to places of worship and frameworks with major London Museums.
    • Super prime residential developments across London - Exploring the use of battery storage, hydrogen, and SMART building technology.
    • Hotels - New build, luxury 250 room hotel in London
    • Data Centres - Upgrade to an existing facility in Europe.

As a small MEP and Sustainability Consultancy with eight permanent MEP staff, yes you will be busy, however, it will be manageable as they never take on more work than they can deliver and never enter a "fastest race to the bottom" bidding war against other consultants for project work.

Their work comes to them by direct appointment due to the quality and level of detail they produce on every single project. This ensures they achieve a profit and not loss on every single project they undertake which means more money invest into salaries, employee benefits and an annual bonus.

Here you'll be involved in projects across RIBA Stages 0 - 7 (not just RIBA Stages 2 to 4) and get involved in everything from feasibility studies, surveys, planning, performance specifications, concept, and detailed design as well as monitoring and supervising the installation, during the construction stage.

You'll use a variety of building services software such as IESVe, Bentley Open Buildings Designer and Revit MEP to design, simulate and model how a variety of buildings will perform in use.
