Would you like to be in a position that will grant you direct access to clients, in a lead role in which you will advise clients and challenge their thinking, to achieve the highest levels of sustainability across the lifecycle of landmark building portfolios?
Working within a Property Consultancy would allow you to take ownership of your own client portfolio with direct access to the client, working as part of the client's consultancy team and acting as the client's representative on projects.
We are currently looking for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to work in a client-side opportunity that would represent a very sensible career move for numerous reasons, the most important benefit of joining a business such as this would be the scale and sheer volume of buildings you can effect from a sustainability perspective.
Rather than just designing or modelling a single building, you'll get to have a huge influence on a client's portfolio of buildings which in some cases can be 100's of buildings for one client. Providing you with an opportunity to make a huge environmental impact across large portfolios of buildings, rather than one or two buildings at a time.

With approximately 40% of carbon emissions arising from property and environmental deadlines that are fast approaching, they recognises the urgent necessity to improve environmental performance of their large portfolios of existing buildings at both planning and asset level.
The team currently consists of some of the brightest and best Sustainability and Building Performance specialists working with clients to improve the environmental performance of their properties portfolios. Considering environmental compliance, resource use and social impact is an integral part of property management.
With 300 Planners developing new projects across the business, the Sustainability team has direct access to a huge array of projects and clients.
An award winning Sustainability team that works in close conjunction across a wider in-house green hub comprising additional service offerings including Energy Services, Technical Sustainability, ESG and Intelligent Buildings, making an overall Green Hub of over 70 consultants that are all focused on delivering award winning sustainability solutions.
The role:
Working with the Sustainable Design team, supporting Pre-Planning and Net Zero work streams on whole life carbon, with a focus on upfront and embodied carbon calculation.
We are looking for an ambitious and knowledge hungry individual with around 3-5 years' experience in an MEP, Structures, Sustainability or Architecture practice, with experience of embodied carbon calculation.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience of Whole-Life Carbon assessment, including embodied carbon calculation and Circular Economy principle
- OneClick LCA would be ideal but training would be provided for the right person

I am working exclusively with a global Real Estate Consultancy, recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join an established M&E team consisting of some of the best Engineers in the industry, to focus on the Decarbonisation of existing buildings.
We are keen to speak to individuals who are interested in transferring their Electrical Building Services Design skills Client- Side into the Commercial Property sector.
The aim of decarbonisation & Net Zero team is primarily to tackle Decarbonisation of existing buildings.
Still working within their established M&E team but focusing on Decarbonisation and Net Zero strategies across my clients managed estates & portfolio's.
The key consideration here is the scale of the impact that you could have on the Decarbonisation of buildings across the UK and Europe.
Essentially engineering solutions that work towards optimising client's portfolios. A strategic service offering that involves overseeing building performance evaluations, analysing data, and implementing optimisation strategies through design to enhance energy efficiency.
Remuneration:
- Salary £44,000

What you'll do in the traditional sense:
- Carry out full detailed design stages 0-7
- Client advisory directly with end user clients
- Project management & coordination with other engineering and real estate disciplines

- Client/Project management
What you'll do in relation to Decarbonisation and Net Zero:
- Identify and propose design interventions that will reduce energy consumption and improve performance of buildings
- Attending sites to survey buildings to obtain information
- Complete technical feasibility studies for sustainable design interventions. Collaborate and coordinate with other consultants
- Manage specialist modelling consultants and collaborate with the wider team of consultants to generate the report deliverables
- Present proposals to clients and external project team members
- Develop design to implement proposed interventions
In Addition to the Design requirements above, the suitable candidate would ideally have the following engineering decarbonisation experience - This is a wish list, so not all essential but gives an idea of the additional skills you could learn in the role:
- Have a passion to take action to address climate change
- Competent producing reports and technical studies
- Heat pump and decarbonised/electrified heating strategy design experience
- Refurbishment project experience
- Have an understanding of EPC and CIBSE TM54 modelling methodology
- Understanding of and experience on Net Zero carbon projects
- Understanding and project experience with BREEAM assessments
- Experience working on NABERS DFP projects or NABERS Energy
- Experience with IES and/or TAS thermal modelling software. Understanding of inputs required
- Low energy design expertise
