ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CO-ORDINATOR (2D & 3D)

Essex / Work from home

£45/65k, 25 Days Annual Holiday, Pension, Life Assurance & Healthcare

Offering an excellent work / life balance your typical week will comprise of working from home, office (Essex) or on site, typically in London. Ideally you will be Essex based for ease of working in an extremely Covid friendly office close to Brentwood.

The Individual:

You will ideally be Degree Qualified or hold a relevant industry qualification.

You will be conversant with, 3D Modelling, Autodesk, Revit, Inventor and CAD. Demonstrate a high attention to detail and a strong desire for accuracy.

Taking the concept design brief including client design information and validating with the ‘as built’ situation on site., co-ordinating the design development and production of CGI renders, GA’s and Elevations.

Other duties will include:

  • Ensuring that the design is fully co-ordinated and compliant with all building regulations, the local building control officer and the local fire officer.
  • Working with the bid team/estimators to understand projects on the horizon and providing expert advice where necessary
  • Attend design meetings and conduct site surveys as necessary and as and when required ensuring full understanding of requirements of project
  • Responsible for identifying any potential challenges early in the project and raising this with the design director and or project directors in a timely way
  • Identify, record and communicate all know design changes to the financial department as soon as they are known
  • Carrying out site meetings as and when necessary
  • Liaising with internal teams and site managers to ensure effective and timely handover of drawings for production
  • Converting 2D and 3D design into 3D design management software systems such as BIM.

You should have a portfolio demonstrating your past work, (native files as well as finished projects) in order that my Client can gauge the extent of your work and capabilities.

    Due to an internal promotion, I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for this high profile multi-disciplinary consultancy based in South West England.

    Working in harmony with the inhouse structural engineers, BIM Technicians, Energy and Sustainability Engineers, Fire Engineers and Building Performance Engineers, you'll work on a range of complex or tall buildings around the globe.

    Current projects include several Science and Research Facilities, Cultural buildings such as museums or theatres, stadiums and major, Net Zero Carbon masterplans.

    You'll use your passion for digital engineering, coding and Revit to help design low carbon buildings. You'll enjoy working on these projects through RIBA stages 2,3,4 and 5 and then liaise with the Building Performance Engineers post occupancy, to better understand how the building is really performing.

    As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing LV distribution systems including containment, distribution board locations and small power systems, performance system containment requirements, fire detection systems and lighting designs.

    You'll enjoy loads of autonomy and flexibility, the option of working from home up to three days a week and receive plenty of support and mentoring from the Seniors, Principals and Associates.

    Requirements

    Degree qualified and ideally pursuing your CEng or IET membership.

    At least two years' experience in a design role, working for a consultancy or design and build contractor

    Able to use Revit, Amtech or ElectricalOM.

    Ideally some experience with coding using C or Rhino or Grasshopper

    Good understanding of Electrical services and an appreciation for mechanical (HVAC) services.

    Active member of CIBSE Young engineer's committee and keen interest in the built environment
