Head of Sustainable Design – £Neg + Full Benefits Package

We are currently looking for a Head of Sustainable Design for a well-established Building Services and Sustainability Consultancy based in Surrey.

Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Renewable Energy, Sustainability and Passive Design they provide a full turn key sustainability service to property developers, investors and end-users.

As the Head of Sustainable Design, you will take a lead role in managing the team, leading projects, producing energy strategies, assisting with Building Physics and also carrying out BREEAM Assessments.

You will be involved in all projects that the practice undertakes and attend pre-assessment, design stage & post construction stage assessments, produce sustainability statements and Energy Strategy reports, assist with fee proposals and bids, lead external presentations, contribute to Design team meetings.

You will also survey existing buildings and produce Life Cycle reports and provide expert advice to commercial property owners and investors as to how to maximise the value of their commercial real estate and how best to decarbonate their portfolios.

As the Sustainability Champion you will be expected to be able to have a good understanding of MEP, Architecture and Environmental Design and have significant experience in assisting the MEP Team design low energy buildings that improve people’s lives and the community in general.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree qualified.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Accredited BREEAM Assessor (for New Construction and Domestic).
  • Awareness of Well or Passivhaus methodology and standards.
  • Must have seen a few projects through from feasibility to Post Occupancy.
  • Good understanding of MEP Services.
